The department of mathematics at the university of Pisa organizes an informative week during which the interested high school students can get to know closer the department. The core of this week are the “workshops”, where the students learn the basics about some mathematical topic with which they are invited to “play” themselves, under the supervision of some “tutors”.

During the year I spent in Pisa I was a tutor in the workshops on games that was held by prof. Giovanni Gaiffi and prof. Ludovico Pernazza. The title of the workshop was

It was such a great fun for us and the students that we decided to write down an extended account of our experience, completed by an appendix by Giulio Tiozzo.
We repeated the experience the following year, with an eye towards topology. So we did the seminar

Which, again, generated a new Quaderno della settimana matematica, with an appendix by Marco Golla.
